Spring in the South, Snow in the Midwest

Now I understand why I live in the Deep South. Looking at the weather map today, Michigan was getting dumped on again. Don't get me wrong, I love the first snow. But, after the first few times, I'm ready for warmer weather. That's why this snowbird has migrated South. I always rethink my decision to live in the Deep South about June 1st of every year -- start of hurricane season. Snow or wind? Snow or wind? Snow or wind?

SNOWBIRD or JUNCO

1)Snow"bird\, n. (a) An arctic finch common, in winter, both in Europe and the United States, and often appearing in large flocks during snowstorms. It is partially white, but variously marked with chestnut and brown. Called also snow bunting, snowflake, snowfleck, and snowflight. (b) Any finch of the genus Junco which appears in flocks in winter time, especially J. hyemalis in the Eastern United States; -- called also blue snowbird. See Junco.
2) n. pl. jun·cos or jun·coes. Any of various small North American birds of the genus Junco, having predominantly gray plumage, a gray or black head, and white outer tail feathers.
2)Slang. One who moves from a cold to a warm place in the winter. This would be me. I moved and stayed.
